The Panto Games
Catherine made her panto debut with imaginary beasts via their first virtual performance! Astounding captivated audiences with a fast, wild, whacky, silly, and all-around hilarious good time, it was a wonder to behold. Interactive and fun for al age, vibrant in its costuming and characters, the interaction between the players jumped off the screen, despite all performing from different spaces. A creative cross between The Hunger Games and various fairy-tales, directed by Matthew Woods.
Sisters
Based on the life of Phillis Dubois and Anna Marie Resseguie, who lived together at the Resseguie Hotel (formerly Keeler Tavern) in the 19th century, SISTERS seeks to shed light on race and privilege in America through the fictional story of two real women, one white and one black. The play will be followed by a talkback with the cast and crew moderated by director Kimberly Wilson.
All About Image/We Are The Elite
What makes it to the gallery, the screen, or the theater? All About Image/ We Are The Elite, set in New York City, is a journey of the people who make images within an American elitist power structure. In the process of capturing, creating, and manipulating images, the characters explore their personal relationships while fighting to retain their aesthetic principles.
The Independents
American impressionist Mary Cassatt and her complicated relationship with Edgar Degas. Their brief but intense friendship resulted in the creation of a series of masterpieces that stunned the art world. Strong-willed, independent, filled with razor sharp wit and humor, this new play enlightens and ignites its audience to an alternate perspective of some of the world's famous artists.
Village, My Home
Catherine was honored to join the cast of this new short play in the role of Native Dweller, as part of Theatre for the New City's 8th Annual Dream Up Festival! Centered around New Year preparations, a Village housewife joined business people and tourists, as they questioned what mattered most and found what they least expected. Village, My Home by Marcina Zaccaria featured original composition that echo the heartbeat of New York City. As technology continues to fascinate, isolate, and shape our lives, how do we encounter our NYC? Village, My Home embraces the very human experience of what it means to live and survive in the 21st century against the backdrop of cultural and political uncertainties. It captures the dreams and hopes of men and women, wishing to explain their wisdom, even in the most troubling moments.
